| Canine Body Work Based on the Principals of Kinaesthetics, Body Work is a hands-on system of releasing soft tissue restrictions to enable normal movement of the body. It is also a systematic way of looking at dogs to evaluate pain or movement components of behavior problems. It utilizes classic movement concepts of parity, symmetry, flight path, stages of movement, arcs of movement and planes of movement to determine how close or far from that animal’s true normal they are to determine body balance, and body/brain balance. Body Work utilizes a press, hold, and release technique on key areas of functional anatomy to reorganize dysfunctional soft tissue movement. By working in rhythm with the cranial-sacral pulse and the motor centers of the brain, the dogs core neurological mechanisms are activated to help with the reorganizing process. The pulse and release Kinaesthetic techniques help to create permanent change in the animal. Some signs that Body Work may help your dog would be: Any indications of pain on dogs of all ages Post surgical therapy Geriatric pain relief Gait abnormality Sudden behavioral changes Aggression Dogs who appear slow, unable to learn, clumsy or uncoordinated Fearful dogs Difficult whelpings |
